Six Sigma is a structured approach to reducing variability, so enhancing the quality of products or services used by many of today’s successful companies. Six Sigma has evolved into a statistically orientated approach to process improvement, concentrating on the customer and focusing on processes. Ford Motor Company Limited is the first automotive manufacturer to adopt Six Sigma as their approach to quality improvement. They are also the first company to use Six Sigma as a tool for directly improving customer satisfaction.
